Mr. Anwar Ali Jammal

Presently presiding as Chairman of the Board of Directors is Mr. Anwar Ali Al Jammal, who was elected chairman/General Manager on the 2nd of May 2005 after the passing away of JTB Founding Chairman, Mr. Ali Al Jammal.

A Westminster MBA graduate with more than 25 years experience in the banking and financial sector, Outside of JTB, Mr.  Jammal headed the AML Compliance Committee and was member of the Credit and Human Resources Committees while working as Chief Banking Officer at CSC in Lebanon for a number of years. As for his JTB career, Mr. Jammal has taken up the ladder in increments steps, rising from Regional Foreign Exchange Manager to Deputy Regional Manager, Personnel & Purchasing Manager, Executive Director, Executive Deputy Chairman, and finally Chairman & General Manager.

 

 Dr. Hassan Tabet Rifaat

Holder of a PHD in Law from the University of Lyon, Dr. Hassan Rifaat has held many esteemed positions that have marked the development of the Lebanese legal system. Previously the General Director of the Ministry of Justice and President of the Central Investigation Directorate, Dr. Rifaat is founder of the eminent Lebanese legal counsel firm, Rifaat & Associates in Beirut. Dr. Rifaat’s inscriptions on the Lebanese judicial system are abundantly apparent, while his contributions to the local and international legal profession are manifest by his authorship of a wide collection of Law books and studies that are distributed across Lebanon, the GCC and Europe. Dr. Rifaat’s knowledge record is considered to be an invaluable asset to the JTB Board of Directors.

Dr. Hassan Rifaat is a member of the JTB Internal Audit Committee and the JTB Risk Committee.

 

Dr. Shadi A. Karam

A graduate of the American University of Beirut, Columbia University- New York, and Harvard University-Cambridge, Mass, USA.

His professional experience is mostly in Finance & Banking.

He has occupied the post of Financial Advisor to the Director General of UNESCO, and has been a Chairmanand CEO of several companies in Europe and the Middle East in various sectors,ranging from Industry to Real Estate development, Hotels, Trading, Banking and Financialservices. He has been from 2002 to 2008 Chairman and CEO of the BLC Bank Group and has until recently ( February 2010 ) occupied the post of CEO of Souria Holding, a major private equity investment firm in Syria.

He has specialized in the restructuring of distressed companies and banks.
He has also been a professor of Economics, Finance, Corporate Finance, and Banking at several universities, such as Harvard (USA), the University of Southern Europe ( Monaco), and the Institut des Etudes Politiques-IEP(Paris).

He is presently the Chairman and General Manager of BLC Finance SAL, and the Vice Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce, Lebanon.

A p-atron of the Arts, he is also president of the Association Libanaise pour le developpement du Mecenat Culturel.
He has several published studies and articles on financial, banking, political and social issues.
He is a Commander of the Spanish Order of Isabella the Catholic and an Officer of the Lebanese Order of the Cedar.
At Jammal Trust Bank, Dr. Karam heads the Risk Committee.

 

Dr. Hussein Ali Yateem

Holder of a PHD in Arabic Literature, Dr. Hussein Yateem is an ex-Deputy of the Lebanese Parliament and previous Board Member of the Lebanese National Social Security Fund. Currently Presiding as Chairman of the Arabic Educational Institutions, a grouping of establishments specializing in High School and Technical education, Dr. Yateem had once held the post of Lebanese Minister of Education.

 

Dr. Mohamad Abed El Hassan Chëib

Holder of a PhD in Business and Economics from Aix-Marseille in France, Dr. Mohamad Abed El Hassan Chëib harbors more than 50 years of experience in the Banking & Finance Sector, and is author of a wide collection of books and studies in the field of Economics. He currently presides as Chairman & General Manager of Intra Investment Co s.a.l. – an affiliate of the Lebanese Central Bank (Banque Du Liban), Dr. Cheib is also a Member of the Board at Bank of Kuwait & The Arab World, a bank where he had held the General Manager position for a total of 9 years. His list of previous Board Memberships includes the Beirut Stock Exchange, the Investment Development Authority of Lebanon, the Research Committee at the Association of Lebanese Banks, the Lebanese Judicial Arbitration Center, Fransabank, and the Parliamentary Committee for the Arab Common Market.

At Jammal Trust Bank, Dr. Mohamad Chëib heads the Internal Audit Committee and the Risk Committee, and is a member of the Credit Committee.

 

Dr. Ghaleb Sobhi Mahmassani

Dr. Ghaleb Mahmassani is holder of a PhD in Law from the University of Lyon in France, and of related law degrees in Lebanese and French law as well as Political Sciences from the American University of Beirut. A legal counsel for many esteemed organizations, of which “Solidere s.a.l”, Dr. Mahmassani is an International Arbitrator and a member of the Permanent Arbitration Court in The Hague. He is also member of the Committee for Legal System Modernization at the Lebanese Ministry of Justice, of the National Commission on Electoral Law, of the Legal Committee at the BDL, and of the Consultative Committee for Arbitration at the Beirut Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Dr. Mahmassani’s academic contributions to the Lebanese legal system library are numerous.

 

Mr. Michel Fouad Fernaini

Holder of a B.A. in Business and Finance from the American University of Beirut, Mr. Michel Fernaini had amassed valuable experience as a financial consultant to Merrill Lynch over a two-decade period, during which he served this multinational both in Beirut and across various European countries. Over the past 15 years, Mr. Fernaini has presided as Chairman and General Manager of Lebanon’s Finance Company – a financial group that is affiliated to a total of 40 banking institutions. He is also a member of the Board at Intra Investment Co s.a.l and a number of its subsidiaries. Dr. Michel Fernaini is a member of the JTB Internal Audit Committee, the JTB credit committee and the JTB Risk Committee.

Mr. Mohamad Ali Jammal

Member of the Board Mr. Mohamad Ali Jammal is holder of a B.A. in Business Administration from the American University of Cairo. With over 23 years of banking practice, Mr. Mohammad Al Jammal’s marketing and sales management experience are of added value to JTB. He presides as Chairman & General Manager of several companies specializing in the domains of Real Estate, Investment and Tourism within and outside Lebanon.
